As part of an expanding Contour family of device docks, audio device manufacturer Pure has developed the Contour 100i, an iPod, iPhone and iPad music dock with integrated FM radio. The purchase includes an Internet radio and music streaming app.
Using AirPlay, Apple’s wireless streaming technology, users can stream music wirelessly to Contour100i Air from a compatible iPod, iPhone or iPad, or from iTunes on a computer using a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
With the companion Pure Lounge App, Contour 100i users can access 18,000 Internet radio stations, on-demand programs, podcasts and ambient sounds. Users can also listen to music tracks via the Pure Music subscription service, expected to be available in North America later this year.
Additionally, Pure is making its Pure Lounge App available for free for a limited period of time from both the Apple App Store and Google Play (formerly the Android Market).
Pure Contour 100i also includes a remote, two alarms, sleep and snooze timers, an aux input for MP3 player connection and a headphone socket. It can also act as a device charger.
Contour 100i lists for $189 and is available from Brookstone and Pure online stores, with more retailers to follow.
