Radio Algérienne Automates JIL FM

Upgrades to Netia Radio-Assist 8.1

Algeria’s JIL FM, which is affiliated with national broadcaster RadioAlgérienne, has upgraded to content management provider Netia’s Radio-Assist 8.1 digital audio software suite.

JIL FM, or “Generation FM” is the country’s first youth-oriented station. Launched in 2012, it broadcasts nationwide in Arabic, Berber and French. The station is usingNetia’snew music scheduling module to automateplayout, and the software also adds Activity Watcher, which simplifies tracking of changes made to playlists and the overall system.

“Radio Algérienne has worked with Netia software for the past five years and has been very satisfied with Radio-Assist’s intuitive operation, efficiency, reliability and rich functionality,” said Mourad Ouadahi, director at Radio Algérienne. “When version 8.1 presented a new music scheduling tool, we took the opportunity to upgrade the system at JIL FM and completely automate broadcasts while maintaining our strategic mix of popular domestic and international music.”

TheNetiasupport team worked with JIL FM to prepare staff and audio database for the migration to v. 8.1. With its music management tools integrated into theFederAllplaylist preparation module, users can automate playlist generation according to preset criteria, business policies and a range of intelligent options for sequencing music. The software also enables music scheduling according to a formula of 60% Algerian music, 40% international music, with a focus on new hits.
