Software maker RCS has announced an iPhone application designed to turn an iPhone into a mobile ENG tool.
Besides handling recording duties, iPush interfaces with the NexGen automation system to send the recording to the system for use by station personnel. Once in the system, the file appears as a typical audio file, ready for playback, editing and processing.
Metadata information such as title, comment and talent are supported by iPush. It is also compatible with the Apple iPod Touch.
RCS sees ENG users as an important market for the app. RCS President and CEO Philippe Generali described the iPush as “an application that gives our NexGen automation users a way to be more local, more up-to-date and timely.”
