RCS President and CEO Philippe Generali announces The Selector Cloud at last week’s NAB Show in Las Vegas.
Highlighting a philosophy of providing professional music scheduling “as a service,” software company RCS introduced The Selector Cloud for radio stations and webcasters at last week’s NAB Show.
Selector is the company’s widely used music scheduling program. Now, “The Selector Cloud is a way for users to be able to access their Selector data from anywhere, on any device that you can imagine,” said company President/CEO Philippe Generali.
The Selector Cloud provides constant and secure access from anywhere via a user name and password. This allows a user to perform scheduling functions like library management, clock-building, policy setting, log editing, transfer to automation and analysis. “A single music library can be used across an unlimited number of stations and data is secured and constantly backed up for ultimate safety,” RCS said in its announcement.
Users can access their scheduler through a browser-based Selector2GO interface, with no software to install on local hardware. The full-scale GSelector desktop client can also be used.
“The Selector Cloud is browser- and device-agnostic; users can access the scheduler by Mac and PC desktop, or tablets and phones running Android or iOS.” A notable advantage is that users always have the latest version; there’s no software to update or download. There’s also no need to distribute backups; data can be shared and accessed in real time by colleagues.
Existing station Zetta automation systems are compatible with this new system.
