The PR-D18 is an old-fashioned portable — the kind that was taken to the beach or a picnic decades ago.
It’s a single-speaker battery-operable AM/FM radio with a telescoping antenna that’s not much bigger than a palm. But it does have some modern updates.
Digital tuning works to receive stations and scan. There are five presets per band and an alarm clock function with a sleep timer and snooze button. A lit LCD screen provides information. When active, the headphone jack shuts the speaker off.
The PR-D18 operates on four AA batteries. An optional AC adapter is available. Price: $69.95.
