Sound4 has unveiled a new line of rack-mounted FM/HD radio processors that — according to the company — are not based on a PC board and can deliver audio in three seconds at power up.
The range includes the Sound4 Impact six-band processor, which features an AGC, stereo enhancer and dynamic clipper as well as the Sound4 Pulse three-band processor, which is fitted with an AGC, stereo enhancer and dynamic clipper. In addition, the company adds that users can simply transition the Pulse processor to an Impact by means of a software upgrade. Finally, the Sound4 First processor includes a digital stereo generator, RDS/RBDS, two-band AGC as well as a dynamic clipper.
Features that are available as an option across the entire line include RDS/RBDS, emergency backup player, stream encoder, IP codec, dedicated HD output with diversity delay and GPS sync for booster alignment.
The new Sound4 range FM/HD of processors integrates a proprietary algorithm aimed at reducing the sound variation perceived by listeners when a receiver switches from stereo to mono reception due to signal impairments. Sound4 says the units deliver “big sound at a small price.”
