Tascam Shows New Digital Handheld Recorder

DR-07 has stereo mics and records in either MP3 or 16/24-bit WAV format

Tascam’s new DR-07 is a digital handheld stereo recorder based on its larger DR-1 design.

The DR-07 records to SD cards in WAV or MP3 formats. Features include pitch and looping functions. The dual microphones are electret condensers.

A USB 2.0 port can facilitate downloading recorded files. A mic stand mount is in the base.

The DR-07 ships with a 2 GB card and a windscreen.

Also new for Tascam is an upgrade to the X-48 48-track digital audio workstation.

Version 1.10 includes a “fail-safe” recording mode. This enables the machine to save the file being used every five seconds as a safety measure. Another change enables a VGA monitor to replicate a meter bridge.
