Telos to Expand Z/IP Servers

More servers and a geographical separation should improve service

Telos ZIP One Codec Telos Systems has announced an expansion of the Z/IP server system that has been operational since 2007. The service makes available priority linking between Telos Zephyr family codecs. Planned deployment is Q3, 2013.

A release explained that new server nodes are being added in geographically separate locations to facilitate improved and more reliable service.

Telos VP/Executive Director Kirk Harnack said, “Z/IP ONE users will be able to choose the closest Z/IP Server, but still have the option to connect to an alternate node when needed. This will really lower ping times and maximize redundancy.” The Z/IP server service is free and will remain so after the upgrade, Telos said.
