Tieline has introduced firmware v.2.14.18, which allows for the support of up to six simultaneous EBU compliant AoIP intercom streams.
The new firmware for Merlin and Genie codecs also supports sending multiple full-duplex intercom streams to a single device or to six separate devices at different remote sites. It can also handle the control of up to six simultaneous SIP connections.
Other features include the integration of sessionless IP dialing, management of up to four VLANs to allow broadcasters to configure IP streaming over two physical Ethernet interfaces, as well as up to four virtual LAN interfaces.
“Tieline was one of the first broadcast codec manufacturers to integrate I3P EBU Tech 3347 specifications for IP intercoms into its Merlin and Merlin PLUS audio codecs,” said Charlie Gawley, Tieline’s VP Sales APAC & EMEA. “Being fully compliant with EBU specifications is important to ensure compatibility between different vendors of communications equipment. This concept is similar to how compliance with EBU N/ACIP Tech 3326 allows connections between dissimilar devices over IP using SIP.”
