Ward-Beck Develops AES67-Native Preamp

Plug your microphone in directly to the IP network

Ward-Beck Systems is launching the preMO-A1, a microphone preamplifier that connects directly to Ravenna AES67 IP networks. The Ravenna-compatible box should be immediately recognized by all other equipment on the network.

Analog to digital conversion is provided within the box itself with 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz and 96 kHz sample rates and 16-bit and 24-bit bitrates.

A gain control knob sits on top of the aluminum box. Available is 48V phantom power for condenser mics.

Synchronization, media clock selection, network transport, session description and connection management are handled by a web GUI.

A small OLED screen provides information such as gain and phantom power. Connection is provided by an XLR-1/4-inch combo input jack and an RJ-45 for the network connection. Power can come externally via a wallwart or PoE.
