Wheatstone Brings IP-88VE Audio Processing Blade

Sneak Peek: It’s a synergy of WheatNet-IP and Vorsis product families

Wheatstone will add to its WheatNet-IP Intelligent Network line with the IP-88VE Audio Processing Blade. The IP-88VE has eight independent Vorsis Embedded three-band stereo audio processors in one rack space.

“Each processing chain consists of a four-band parametric equalizer followed by a crossover and three bands of compression,” the company stated.

“The compressors each feed their own limiters, whose outputs are then fed to a broadband look-ahead limiter for tight peak control. The Blade has its own local I/O, with eight stereo pairs of AES Digital audio in and out, and can function as a standalone processing engine. Because it’s a Blade, it can also instantly configure itself as part of a new or existing WheatNet-IP Intelligent Network, making its processing power available throughout that network.”

It is configured and controlled over Ethernet using a laptop or desktop computer. Included is Vorsis’ GUI Lite software, which allows setup of the processing using familiar controls. A control interface called GUI Pro is available that allows expert-level adjustments.

A routing matrix and routing control interface are included. Two eight-channel stereo utility mixers can be controlled by WheatNet-IP Navigator software or the new Sideboard control surface.

The company’s Jeff Keith said this Blade encourages “some extremely creative and powerful network designs.”
