(click thumbnail)You might be able to get your hands on a free HHB FlashMic during the show.
HHB will be raffling off one line input-equipped version of its digital recording microphone each day at 5 p.m. on April 14, 15 and 16.
Powered by two AA batteries, the FlashMic combines a studio-quality condenser capsule with a broadcast-quality 1 GB flash recorder and high-speed USB interface into a microphone body. The FlashMic converts FlashMic PCM and MP2 files to MP3 using the supplied FlashMic Manager Mac/PC software application, also available online at www.flashmic.info.
Winners can choose either the DRM85-LI omnidirectional or DRM85-LI cardioid FlashMics. These models are line input-equipped versions of the original DRM85 and DRM85-C, which HHB says enable journalists to record feeds from press conferences. When the included XLR cable is connected to the integrated bantam TT jack, journalists also can switch quickly from the live feed to record their own interviews or commentary.
Entrants must submit an entry form or business card at the Sennheiser booth. Winners do not have to be present to win and will receive their choice of FlashMic by mail 4-6 weeks after the NAB Show.
