WorldCast Struts New Stuff at CABSAT

Convention is in Dubai at end of this month

WorldCast Systems will highlight recent advances to the APT, Audemat and Ecreso product lines during the CABSAT 2012 show in Dubai, scheduled to take place Feb. 28–March 1.

From the APT codec division comes the WorldCast Horizon NextGen, an IP audio codec featuring the firm’s SureStream technology, which uses packet re-sequencing methods, allowing broadcasters to obtain audio qualityandlink reliability —traditionally associated with E1 links — through the simple use of less expensive Internetconnections (ADSL, wireless 3G/4G, LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi).

The unit, which features multiple algorithms, optional dual IP ports, redundant power supplies and a solidDSP platform, provides extensive control and monitoring capabilities to manage audio, data and network conditions as well as other gear at the transmitter site.

Also on show is the Audemat Goldeneagle FM signal monitoring unit, the Mini Control Silver remote control system, and the Scripteasy software suite, which enables the user to configure and control every aspect of a studio or transmitter site.

From the Ecreso division, the Helios FM digital transmitter range is at the forefront. Available in a power range from 20 W to 2 kW, the company says the new transmitter offers up to 74 percent efficiency. At the core of the new range is an exciter, which incorporates an FM band “direct-to-channel” digital modulator.
