ACC1340 is intended for audio, video and IoT applications

SAN JOSE, Calif. International provider of advanced Wi-Fi radio chips Amped RF Wireless Technology now offers a Wi-Fi dual band single-chip solution. The ACC1340 Amped RF Connectivity Controller is a solution intended for audio, video and Internet of Things applications.

The ACC1340 features low energy consumption, fast speed and a clean design. Its feature set offers integration options, allowing for fewer external components and faster time to market the best match for manufacturers of Wi-Fi enabled products who wish to seamlessly stream audio, video or Internet data.

The integrated circuit, systems-on-a-chip ACC1340 offers dual band support in both 2.4 and 5GHz frequencies providing a balanced approach to supporting Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n protocols. The Packet Traffic Arbitration feature supports coexistence with Bluetooth radios in the 2.4GHz band.

The connectivity controller supports STA, Soft AP, Wi-Fi Direct and HotSpot 2.0. It also supports concurrent mode STA and Soft AP. It is compatible with Dual Band 2.4/5GHz, 802.11a/b/g/n, 2.4GHz integrated PA, 21dBm Tx power, -98dBm Rx sensitivity.

The dual band feature allows you to avoid data traffic jams by putting you in the 5GHz fast lane, said Vice President of Sales Naz Usmani, who noted that dual band allows for excellent reception in crowded environments with high population density areas such as apartment complexes, office buildings and transport hubs.
