BOULDER, Colo. Clip Interactive has rolled out a new capability on their interactive radio platform: users can now access radio station broadcast signals through the FM Chip.
The company develops apps for station partners and has enabled broadcast listening via the FM Chip for users with an Android HTC One (M8) device, according to the company, and additional phones will be enabled in the coming months. If a phone manufacturer has added an FM chip and the accompanying software is provided by the carrier to a device, Clip Interactive can access the FM Chip and activate FM tuning without carrier approval.
This feature was added in support of the National Association of Broadcasters initiative promoting FM Chip activation on all mobile devices, a release says.
CEO Michael Lawless says the platform addresses, manages and monetizes broadcast, mobile streaming and FM chips, desktop stream, social media and broadcasters websites.
Clip Interactive is a technology company providing on interactive radio apps for individual stations as well as an app that aggregates all Clip Interactive stations.
