DAB+ Broadcast Facilities’ Expansion Continues in Europe

Italy, France and Monaco see new multipexes go on the air

LONDON�In the Italian city of Cagliari, Club DAB Italy is activating a new DAB+ multiplex transmitter. The service will offer 16 programs, including Radio DeeJay, m2o, R101, Radio 24-Il Sole 24 Ore, Capital Radio, Radio Maria, Radio Radicale, and RDS.� They also announced an upcoming improvement in coverage in the Bologna area, according to digitalradio.it.

France Multiplex andITAS TIMannounced the commissioning of the multiplex 5 around Nice, France, a local allotment developed in accordance with its authorization from the CSA.�Broadcasters planning on using the new multiplex include Alta Frequenza, K Frequency, Nice Radio, Radio Shalom Nitzan and RCF Nice Paca, reportslalettre.pro.�

In Monaco the network operator MCR has placed a second DAB + network in operation.� On the 2nd Mux, which can be received on the whole C�te d’Azur, will be the French regional broadcasters Frequence Mistral from Marseille; Radio Vall�e from the Maritime Alps; the Franco-Russian Nice Radio (of Nice) which has previously been heard in Monaco on FM; French private broadcaster Radio Orient; and the broadcaster Pure Le Son Pop Electro, according toradiowoche.de. �
