DAB Coverage to Reach 95% in Germany, 90% in Italy

It is estimated that 70% of the Italian population (as one example) can be reached with a DAB + signal when out-of-doors

ROME � More than 55% of Europeans�now receive DAB +, which is pushing more and more car manufacturers to equip their vehicles with�DAB receivers as standard equipment, reportslastampa.it.�

For 2016, it is estimated that 70% of the Italian population (as one example) can be reached with a DAB + signal when out-of-doors. Though coverage is now concentrated in the north and in larger cities, coverage in 2017�it is expected to reach 90% of the country.��

In Germany,�Media Broadcast has recently added more DAB mux transmitter sites. The focus of further expansion stage is Bavaria with locations in Landshut and Amberg, but planned also is the addition of a transmitter site Gr�nten. TheBundesmux�at�the sites Brotjacklriegel, Edenkoben and B�ttelberg have recently been enabled. Further transmitter locations in Calau in Cottbus and Bremerhaven-Schiffdorf will soon be put into operation.

By the end of 2016, the number of mux transmitters will reach 110. The Bundesmux will then reach 80% of the population indoors and approximately 95 percent of the out-of-doors. The motorways are expected to reach nearly 100% coverage. �
