Germany’s Bundesmux Is Nearly Complete

The transmitter at Kreuzberg is the 100th station of the national digital radio channel 5C multiplex

COLOGNE, Germany � Germany�s national network for the digital radio multiplex (Bundesmux) is nearly completed, with the commissioning of four new transmitter sites in Kreuzberg (Bavaria), Biedenkopf (Hessen), Boo�en (Brandenburg) and Aachen City (Nordrhein-Westfalen). The transmitter at Kreuzberg is the 100th station of the national digital radio channel 5C multiplex.

By the end of 2016 there will be 110 transmitter sites is in operation. The Bundesmux will then

cover 82 percent of the population indoors and 95 percent of the area out of doors. About 97% of the federal motorways will be covered. The transmission services provider Media Broadcast will have exceeded the coverage requirements of the Federal Network Agency that specified them.

The remaining work will involve coverage in Bavaria supplying the Rh�n-Region and the A7 motorway between Fulda and W�rzburg; in Hessen, especially the Marburg region; in Brandenburg in the Frankfurt-Oder area; and, along the A2 motorway east of Berlin.
