Germany’s NDR Continues DAB+ Network Expansion

Currently, Norddeutscher Rundfunk has 10 DAB+ multiplex transmitters on-air

MUNICH, Germany�North German Public Broadcaster NDR (Norddeutscher Rundfunk)will greatly expand its coverage during 2016, by adding 5 new transmitter sites, according toradio.nl.

Currently NDR has 10 DAB+ multiplex transmitters on-air, covering Hamburg, Kiel, Hanover, Braunschweig, Schwerin and the Autobahns A1 and A28 southwest of Bremen.

In March a transmitter will be added at L�beck, in the southeast of the state of Schleswig-Holstein. �In October or November, Flensburg, in the north of this province, will see a new transmitter turned up.� �With the addition of these two transmitters, coverage will be added to the A7 between Hamburg and the Danish border and along the A1 / A20 between Hamburg and Schwerin.

In Mecklenburg, western Pomerania, a new transmitter will be added in September or October for coverage of the city of Neubrandenburg.� In addition, a new transmitter site is planned along the A20 between Ticino and Grimmen.

Finally, in the region of Osnabr�ck and southwestern Lower Saxony, coverage of the DAB + network of the NDR will be increased by new transmitter in Lingen, in October or November.
