NextRadio Campaign Spurs Downloads

TagStation has announced that daily downloads of the free smartphone app NextRadio have increased by more than 50 percent since the launch of the radio industry-wide advertising campaign to create consumer awareness around the NextRadio app and FreeRadioOnMyPhone.org

INDIANAPOLIS�TagStation has announced that daily downloads of the free smartphone app NextRadio have increased by more than 50 percent since the launch of the radio industry-wide advertising campaign to create consumer awareness around the NextRadio app and FreeRadioOnMyPhone.org.�

NextRadio combines local FM radio broadcast with the Internet.

�We have been very encouraged by the results of the commercials and have seen tens of thousands of consumers take action to let their wireless carriers know they want FM activated on their smartphones. It is great to see the radio industry working together to drive these incredible results,� said Paul Brenner, president of NextRadio/TagStation. �As we meet with carriers, they keep telling us they are glad to see the radio industry promoting itself and demonstrating our own influence through mass media.�

Feb. 23, NextRadio joined with the National Association of Broadcasters to launch a nationwide over-the-air radio campaign promoting FM chip activation in all smartphones.
