Pandora, Woolworths Partner to Launch Australian Retail Internet Radio Network

The music will be frequently varied to reflect different shopping times, locations and experiences

SYDNEYPandora recently announced a partnership with Woolworths Supermarkets. Woolworths, the largest supermarket retailer in Australia, will stream specially curated Pandora stations in more than 970 supermarkets daily.

The customized Woolworths Radio will be refreshed and updated on a regular basis, so shoppers will have an updated listening experience when they visit their store. The music will be frequently varied to reflect different shopping times, locations and experiences. Pandora will be mentioned during the audio and in point-of-sale displays which will encourage customers to download the app.

In addition to the in-store music, customers will be able to use the Pandora app to access the dedicated Woolworths Radio station, which features Australian artists such as The Reubens, Keith Urban, Kylie Minogue and Vance Joy, in addition to international artists.

The curated playlists were made possible by Pandoras Music Genome Project, a hand-built musical taxonomy, and to implement the technology behind the in-store music platform at Woolworths, Pandora partnered with Mood Media, an integrated provider of in-store customer experience solutions.
