Polish Radio Turns On New DAB+ Transmitter

DAB+ signals now cover 55 percent of Poland

KUHAWSKO-POMORSKIE, POLAND�In both Bydgoszcz and Torun, Polish Radio has been transmitting digital radio since the end of April.� Yesterday, a new digital transmitter was brought on-line at Kujawsko-Pomorskie, meaning that about 55 percent of the Polish population is now covered by DAB+ signals, reports wirtualnemedia.pl.

Programs carried on the new DAB+ multiplex include Polish Radio 1, 2, 3, 4, and over the DAB+ mux only, Polish Information Radio 24, Polish Children�s Radio, and PiK Polish Radio.

New transmitters at Gizycko, Kalisz, Plock and Siedlce are scheduled for turn-up by July of 2016.�A year later, Polish Radio will begin the final phase of DAB+ system construction, the end result of which will be full coverage of the country by 2020.
