VANCOUVERThe Northwest Broadcasters recentnews pageis reporting that CFMI(FM) has recently added HD Radio to its FM service.
After some initial hiccups, the newly added HD signal on Vancouver market CFMI-FM 101.1 should now be reliable. Engineering is currently working on a problem with the artist and title information, but expects to have it fully operational on Monday. The customary three week test period ends on Tuesday and if passed will be in effect on an experimental basis until the station license renewal in 2018.
The CRTC and Industry Canada are treating the recently added HD signals in Canada as experimental or evaluation level.
The report also says that two low-power FMs in southern Ontario are transmitting HD on CING(FM), and that it will soon be turned on in Calgary, Alberta, as well.
