World DMB Issues ETI Signal Reference Library

World DMB Issues ETI Signal Reference Library

Sep 16, 2009 12:41 PM

Manufacturers building digital receivers for use in Eureka 147 DAB/DMB markets have a new tool available with which to test their prototype hardware, as World DMB says it’s now offering the first ETI (Ensemble Transport Interface) library for digital radio and mobile TV industry use.

Available for download by World DMB member organizations, the library will provide a virtual test track of digital DAB, DAB+ and DMB transmissions, generated in the laboratory and assembled from all parts of the world where the technology is currently in use. In addition to its obvious applications for receiver testing, broadcasters may also find it useful as a reference for comparison against transmitted signals.

World DMB believes the ETI library will provide a platform for the exchange of best practices between broadcasters worldwide, as its files contain country-by-country snapshots of DAB, DAB+ and DMB content from different markets and data streams configured with multiplexing equipment from specific manufacturers.
