It must be that time again.

Next week will be (as the Donald might say) yoooge for sports radio listeners in the days leading up to the Super Bowl. Which means this week is a hectic one for engineers and audio technologists who support them. Especially if you work in Denver or Charlotte!

Mike Irby, VP of engineering at iHeartMedia Denver, posted these pix to Facebook. “Equipment packed and shipping out today,” he told his friends. “A full week’s worth of broadcasting across three stations followed by the Super Bowl 50 game day broadcast. Stress level is ultra high.” Somehow we think they’ll pull it off just fine. OK, Charlotte, your turn, show us what ya got ...

Big Accomplishments in the Big City

"A lot of broadcast engineers did that in their careers. They could deal with a tube transmitter, or maybe even a solid-state console; but then it all changed. Whether it's a BE AudioVault or the latest Prophet system, a lot of people fell by the wayside rather than deal with it."
