Arbitron Taps Scarborough Exec as Research Chief

Gregg Lindner to lead research and product divisions

Gregg Lindner will join Arbitron’s executive staff as Chief Research Officer and executive vice president for Service Innovation, a new position within the company. Arbitron expects him to come on board by year-end.

In his role, Lindner will focus on service quality, refining existing methods and developing new approaches for radio and crossplatform measurement for the diary and Portable People Meter.

The University of Maryland graduate was most recently EVP at Scarborough Research. He will now serve as the Arbitron representative on the Scarborough partners committee.

Lindner will report to Arbitron President/Chief Executive Officer Bill Kerr on matters of research and service quality, and to Sean Creamer, executive vice president, U.S. Media Services, for ongoing operations. He will be based in Arbitron’s Columbia, Md., Headquarters.

At Scarborough, Lindner managed the company’s day-to-day business and operations. Prior to his role of executive vice president, he headed up the Research and Operations team which was responsible for quality assurance of Scarborough data, creating and adapting research methodologies, custom research projects and overall management of Scarborough’s product line.

He joined Scarborough Research 1993. Prior to joining Scarborough in the mid-1990s, Lindner was at Simmons Market Research (now a division of Experian), and was at Arbitron from 1981 to 1992.
