Codec maker Mayah Communications of Germany has announced that its SIP server is compatible with Tieline and Comrex SIP-compatible codecs.
SIP-compatible servers are designed to allow codecs from competing manufacturers to be compatible with each other.
A test using the Mayah SIP server, conducted between WAMU(FM) in the nation’s capital and a Mayah codec in Washington state, was successful, it stated.
Mayah is a founding member of the Audio-via-IP Experts Group that sets standards for codec IP performance and compatibility.
The company has an online guide to audio over IP (PDF).
