Farm Group Broadens Its Name

Farm Group Broadens Its Name

The National Association of Farm Broadcasters tweaks its name; it is now the National Association of Farm Broadcasting. A subtle change, but important to some of the group’s members.
“Broadcaster members approved the name change to formally recognize the inclusion of agribusiness companies and agency members, as well as station and network sales and general management, in NAFB member councils and the group’s board of directors,” it stated.
The group began in the 1940s as the National Association of Radio Farm Directors and had last changed its name back in 1964.
NAFB also said it released more market research “that identifies and more clearly defines the rural lifestyle population.” It told attendees at a meeting in Kansas City about it. The research is intended to help farm radio deliver audience to agri-marketers, it stated.
