NAB2004 Radio Luncheon to Feature Mormon Tabernacle Choir

NAB2004 Radio Luncheon to Feature Mormon Tabernacle Choir

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s “Music and the Spoken Word” will be inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame at the Radio Luncheon during NAB2004 in Las Vegas, April 20. As part of this induction, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir will perform at the event, which is sponsored by ASCAP.
“Music and the Spoken Word” started broadcasting 75 years ago, on July 15, 1929, and is the longest continuously running network broadcast, according to the trade group. At that time, a local radio crew ran a wire from a control room to an amplifier where the choir was singing more than a block away.
The program is now broadcast by a combined total of more than 2,000 radio, TV and cable outlets worldwide and is produced by Bonneville Communications.
NAB2004 will take place April 17 – 22, 2004 in Las Vegas.
