NAB Radio Board members agreed to urge the FCC to move quickly to allow stations to convert to IBOC for both AM and FM bands. Members heard presentations of Ibiquity Digital Corp.’s progress with its AM system. Members were also briefed on satellite radio’s use of terrestrial repeaters and the association’s efforts to lobby the commission to ban local program origination by XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio. NAB believes the agency will soon issue final rules governing repeater use.
