National Radio Sales Jumped 25% in May

May marked the 93rd straight month of revenue gains for the radio industry, according to the Radio Advertising Bureau.
Combined local and national sales jumped 25% in May, as local revenues increased 22% and national dollars were up 38% when compared to 1999 numbers.
“Radio continues to post strong gains due to its ability to deliver targeted customers in all business sectors,” said RAB president/CEO Gary Fries. “As advertisers in all business categories switch mass-appeal advertising to customer-specific campaigns, radio is being recognized as a leading medium for getting results.”
