All India Radio continues its rollout of Digital Radio Mondiale with the addition of six Nautel NX DRM-enabled transmitters.
Four 100 kW NX100 and two 200 kW NX200 transmitters were shipped to the public broadcaster in July for installation in six cities.
The new transmitters will be installed at AIR facilities in Hyderabad, Jagdalpur, Vishakhapatnam, Bhawanipatna, Jeypore and Sambalpur.
The six new transmitters bring AIR’s total up to 33, all of which are configured for DRM30 operation.
The transmitters will be commissioned by Nautel’s in-country partner Comcon, in association with India’s Prasar Bharati.
