APRE Seeks Proposals Ahead of Conference

The deadline to submit proposals is Dec. 15

The Association of Public Radio Engineers is seeking for presentation proposals for the 2017 Public Radio Engineering Conference.

The event will be held April 20–21 at the Tuscany Suites in Las Vegas, immediately preceding the NAB Show. Attendees will consist of public radio engineers, operations staff, IT staff and management, and thus proposals should target this audience.

Note that the presentations should be technical in nature and not sell or promote a product. Some past presentations have focused on RF theory and innovations of antennas and transmitters; audio production techniques and solutions; operations including automation and traffic systems; STLs and studio links; console technology; SNMP; virtualization; and more.

Presenters should prepare to speak on the subject for 30–45 minutes, which will then be followed by a 10-minute question-and-answer session.

The deadline to submit proposals is Dec. 15. The committee also anticipates a quick turnaround time — they will send out acceptance notices in January. Email questions or submissions to [email protected].
