Broadcasters Aid in Colorado

Fundraiser put together for flood victims

Colorado broadcasters, notably public radio stations, PBS TV and commercial TV stations, gathered together on Wednesday for a fundraiser aimed at benefiting the American Red Cross along with several food banks.

Colorado Flood Relief” was the name of the name of the live fundraiser. The stations and media involved: “Rocky Mountain PBS, Colorado Public Television, KUVO(FM), KUNC(FM), KGNU(FM), KRCC(FM), KAFM(FM) and KVNF(FM)” along with “commercial television stations 9NEWS [KUSA], 7NEWS [KMGH], KKTV, KKCO, KJCT, Azteca Colorado, CBS4 [KCNC], KDVR, KWGN, KDEN Telemundo and Entravision.”

The food banks receiving aid are, “Community Food Share, serving Boulder and Broomfield Counties, The Food Bank for Larimer County and Weld Food Bank.”

The Colorado Broadcasters Association encouraged its members to air support and instructions on how to donate to the effort. Encana, an energy company, provided underwriting for the effort.
