Cox Media Group Promotes

Johnston, Joseph among those with new roles

The Cox Media Group announced staffing changes and promotions. The company owns radio stations, TV stations and newspapers.

Former EVP and CFO Neil Johnston will become EVP of strategy and digital innovation. He will oversee CMG Digital, the company’s digital properties, along with strategic development, IT and engineering. Dave Seigler, CMG VP of engineering will report to Johnston.

Johnston will be succeeded by Charles Odom, formerly VP of finance. His new position will be VP and chief financial officer.

The publisher of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a Cox newspaper, Mike Joseph, also a CMG VP, will move up to an executive vice president position. In his new position he’ll oversee CMG newspaper operations. He will be succeeded as publisher of the AJC by Amy Glennon.
