Cumulus Media Promotes Kansy and Demay

They will serve as program directors in their respective stations

Julie Kansy

Cumulus Media announced that it has named Julie Kansy as program director of top 40 station KQHN(FM)/i97.3 in Shreveport, La., and Brian Demay as program director of AC-formatted WRRM(FM)/Warm 98 in Cincinnati.

Kansy joined Cumulus Media Shreveport in 2014 as on-air host, afternoon drive, and assistant program director at KRMD(FM)/NASH(FM) 101.1, and in 2015 was named operations manager of Cumulus Media Shreveport. She has also served as program director of KRMD(AM)/Sports Talk 100.7 and KRMD(FM)/The Ticket.

“Since joining Cumulus in October of 2014 to host an afternoon show on KRMD, Jules has done an incredible job of going above and beyond for our cluster,” said Brandon Beard, vice president/market manager of Cumulus Media Shreveport. “We are proud to announce that Jules will now lead our CHR station KQHN i97.3 as the PD and also begin the search for a local morning show. Jules will continue in her role as the OM and will continue to host her afternoon show on KRMD.”

Kansy said Cumulus has given her the opportunity of a lifetime. “I have put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into radio and I wouldn’t want it any other way,” she said. “This is my first love and passion.”

Demay joined Cumulus Media Cincinnati from Cumulus Media Providence [R.I.], where he programmed AC-formatted WWLI(FM)/Lite Rock 105 for over three years. He was also host of afternoon drive on WWLI and continues as a syndicated afternoon personality for Westwood One.

Brian Demay

“The Cumulus Cincinnati cluster is pleased to welcome Brian to our team,” said Dave Crowl, regional vice president and market manager for Cumulus Media Cincinnati. “Brian’s successful track record in the competitive Providence market has made him fully prepared to further build the value of the Warm 98 brand to our listeners, advertisers and the Cincinnati community.”

Demay said that leading Warm 98 was a dream come true. “I’m going to miss my talented team in Providence, but I’m happy to leave them at number one.”

Keith Mitchell, operations manager at Cumulus Media Cincinnati said he was excited for Demay to join the team. “Of course, before he starts we’ll be taking him to lunch at Skyline Chili; it’s pretty much the law when you start working in Cincinnati,” said Mitchell.
