Digigram Goes North

Yukon-based broadcaster installs Iqoya Links

A Digigram Iqoya Link sits in a rack at a Native North Broadcasting Yukon radio station.

Native North Broadcasting Yukon is a nonprofit TV and radio broadcaster serving Canada’s northwest.

To serve many of its far-flung stations (about 20 translators including one above the Arctic Circle) NNBY has deployed some two dozen Digigram Iqoya Link or Link/LE IP codecs to work with the NNBY satellite distribution network.

NNBY’s Director of Engineering Dennis Gerard told the manufacturer: “The Iqoyas have performed rock-solid. We are only seeing a 0.1% packet loss. This is very important to us because reliability was my number one objective.”

Gerard also liked the cost. An additional benefit was that the Iqoya is compatible with Axia Livewire and the NNBY studios are a Livewire operation.
