Digital terrestrial radio deployment in France has gained support as five companies have joined Syndicat Interprofessionnel des Radios et Télévisions Indépendantes (SIRTI), le Syndicat National des Radios Libres (SNRL) and WorldDMB in the Alliance for digital radio.
La Lettre Pro notes that Crooner Radio, Raje, Trace FM and two receiver manufacturers (Pure and CGV) have signed on to the initiative, which says it aims to preserve the classic characteristics of over-the-air radio: free, anonymous, program diversity, unlimited listening.
The organization also said that it expects more groups to join in the coming weeks.
