Dwight Ellis, head of NAB’s Career Center and Human Resource Development for more than twenty years, will retire from the trade association, effective Feb. 1.
Ellis joined NAB in 1978. As vice president of human resources development, Ellis oversees NAB’s diversity outreach program, which links television and radio broadcast companies to colleges and universities and serves as a liaison to minority and women’s groups. He also has been an advocate for minority entrepreneurship in the industry.
Ellis introduced several NAB initiatives over the years, including the “Minority Executives in Media” conference, the “Symposium on Valuing and Managing Diversity in the Broadcast Workplace” and the “Diversity in Broadcasting: Actions Toward Better Business” booklet promoting productive EEO outreach.
After leaving NAB, Ellis will launch Dwight Ellis & Associates, Ltd., a media and workforce development consultancy that uses “strategic diversity,” a holistic approach for meeting business marketplace challenges
