FCC Says ‘No Dice’ to Waiving Regulatory Fees

FCC Says 'No Dice' to Waiving Regulatory Fees

Phoenix Broadcasting, licensee of Seward, Alaska FMs KSWD and KPFN, asked the FCC to waive its fiscal year 2000 regulatory fees. Phoenix said the $300 fee for the two stations would place Phoenix in a “precarious financial condition” since it was also operating FM translators and garnering meager income from those. The agency said Phoenix failed to provide adequate documentation to warrant a waiver.
