FCC Upholds $20,000 Florida Pirate Fine

Agency says Marckenson Bazile operating a station out of his house

A $20,000 fine against Marckenson Bazile for operating an unlicensed station in Miami has progressed to a forfeiture order.

In March 2011, the FCC originally fined Bazile $20,000 for operating a pirate station on 103.9 MHz from his home in Miami.

The agency said this week Bazile has not responded to the notice, and that’s why they reaffirmed the amount and issued a forfeiture order.

Bazile has 30 days to pay or the FCC may turn the case over to the Justice Department.
