Federal News Radio Goes Mobile

Station targeting the Beltway market launches 'on the go' version of website and an iPhone app

The uniquely programmed WFED(AM) in Washington has launched a mobile version of its website, FederalNewsRadio.com, as well as an iPhone app.

Using the new mobile applications, listeners can hear the Bonneville station live, read news articles and blogs, and listen to the station’s audio archives and programs on demand.

Federal News Radio targets federal managers and contractors seeking news and information about the business of the federal government, which is a dominant employer and business presence in Washington and its Maryland and Virginia suburbs.

“Federal executives are some of the most mobile people in Washington,” according to Program Director Lisa Wolfe. Smartphone users who access FederalNewsRadio.com using their mobile devices will be redirected to the mobile version of the website.

The Federal News Radio iPhone app is available at the iTunes App store.

Federal News Radio, on which Radio World reported at its launch, celebrated its 10th anniversary as a news radio station and website in February.
