The group Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio released its annual study showing the progress of females in various radio employment positions. The summary showed that while women are making progress in sales management, they are static in station management and programming.
Of stations in the top 100 markets, less than 15% have a female GM. Less than 9% have a female PD. In sales management, women make up approximately a third of general sales managers in all size markets, a 21% increase in the past ten years.
