The Highways Agency, which oversees British motorways and trunk roads, has launched a digital radio service designed to help drivers plan their routes.

Traffic Radio is transmitted nationwide via the Internet, and it available via local DAB multiplexes across the country.

The station offers a rolling speech-only traffic news service. Traffic information comes from the National Traffic Control Centre.

A medium-wave Traffic Radio trial ran from 4 July to 1 August in Swanley, England, covering the intersection of the M25 and M20 motorways.
