Ottawa-based International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) recently won contracts for two new digital radio satellite networks in Europe.
As part of an upgrade of its network to the MPEG-4 AAC encoding standard, Polish public service broadcaster Polskie Radio chose IDC head-end uplink equipment plus an initial roll-out of receivers to remote stations.
The new system will enable Polskie Radio to deliver live broadcasts and to insert digitally recorded content locally.
Portuguese public broadcaster Radiodifusão Portuguesa (RDP) also ordered IDC SuperFlex Pro Audio receivers for the deployment of a new network. The system includes MPEG-4 AAC support and provides for the delivery of streaming digital data.
