It'll Be a Gay Event on Tuesday

Association plans its annual dinner and invites GLBTs, friends and associates

Gay and lesbian broadcasters and their friends are invited to take part in an annual dinner that has become a traditional event during NAB week.

Hosted by the National Association of Gay & Lesbian Broadcasters, the social gathering will be held Tuesday evening April 21 at the Blue Moon Resort on Westwood Drive, near the Strip.

"We hope the weather will be warm so we can enjoy dinner on the patio around the pool and waterfall," organizer Lyle Henry says.

"Cash and carry" social hour begins after the convention floor closes at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served buffet style at 7. Cost is $20 per person, not including alcoholic drinks.

The National Association of Gay and Lesbian Broadcasters Dinner event begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday; a social hour is followed by food at 7:30 p.m.

Gay Radio Gets a Coming Out

Many ethnic or interest groups now can find a place on the dial that plays their tunes. For some programmers the next logical population segment to merit a targeted format is the gay, lesbian and bi-sexual/transgender community.
