He had been in an interim role since December when Mel Karmazin left, we reported.
SiriusXM Chairman George Maffei said Meyer has been with the satcaster for nearly a decade and the executive’s knowledge of SiriusXM’s business, combined with his industry expertise will be “invaluable assets in the highly competitive market within which SiriusXM is thriving.”
Before his appointment to the interim CEO position in December, Meyer had been president of sales and operations for the satcaster since May, 2004. Previously, he was president of Aegis Ventures, a general management consulting company; SiriusXM was a client.
