Harris Corp. presented a technical achievement award to Geoffrey Mendenhall, VP of its Broadcast Communications Division.
Well known to radio people for his work in transmitters over the years, Mendenhall was recognized for his technical contributions including more than 30 technical papers on FM tuning and the optimization of FM transmitter performance; chapters on FM transmitters in several editions of the NAB Engineering Handbook; and a chapter in the Encyclopedia of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, among other accomplishments.
In 1999 he received the NAB Radio Engineering Achievement Award. Harris gave Mendenhall the award as part of National Engineers Week, which took place in February.
