Broadcasters have more time to tell the commission what they think about new regulatory fee proposals.
The agency granted an extension request from the National Cable Association. The FCC agrees with ACA that extra time is warranted to develop a more complete record. The two-week extension makes the new deadline for reply comments (to MB Docket 14-92) July 21.
Radio isn’t facing much in the way of new fees for fiscal year 2015, however, AM stations might see a big change. The commission wants to apply a fee to expanded band stations for the first time and seeks public input.
