NAB Expands Lobbying Team

NAB named Doug Wiley, currently executive vice president of Government Relations, to the newly created position of executive vice president of Administration and Agencies.

NAB named Doug Wiley, now executive vice president of government relations, to the newly created position of executive vice president of administration and agencies.

Wiley will be NAB’s chief advocate to the cabinet and federal agencies. His job: to raise visibility and awareness of NAB positions within the administration and be a liaison to the FCC and other agencies.

Wiley joined NAB in April 2006. Earlier he was a senior VP of government relations for the Electronic Industries Alliance, VP at the Telecommunications Industry Association and a senior legislative assistant to former House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Thomas Bliley, R-Va.

Also, Laurie Knight, senior VP of government relations, was promoted to executive vice president. She will represent the broadcast industry before Congress and head the government relations team’s advocacy initiatives.

Knight joined NAB in 2005. She had been director of government affairs for the National Beer Wholesalers Association and legislative director for Rep. Jim Turner, D-Texas.

NAB also announced that Robin Oxford joined as director of state association and membership outreach. Oxford will serve as principal liaison with NAB membership and state associations on public policy issues.

And Meredith Long has been promoted to director of congressional and membership outreach. Long was manager of government relations.
